Panther at large Nowadays everybody is all Panther of course after the eagerly awaited release of the beast. So why am I so quiet? Because I don't have it yet. Being the owner of a trusty Wallstreet, I am deprived of the joys of Panther, but there is hope. For one, OWC's Ryan Rempel is working on a new XPostFacto that will cover both Panther and the machines newly fallen from grace (models w/o built-in USB). Besides that, there will hopefully soon be a new 15' AlBook in the house and I will inherit the TiBook, which is, of course, Panther-ready. In this case the Wallstreet will assume server duties. Not to bad a position for a 5 year old, second-hand PB, I think.

Loads of work... In case anyone might wonder why the posts dried out... I'm kind of busy these days, maclocalization.com and maclocalization.org finally got their own homes after living in a subfolder of my other website. Feel free to check them out and spread the word. Both sites are still a work in progress, but nevertheless, one can get a pretty good idea what it is all about.

Everyone's getting ready for Panther It is really nice to see how many software developers publish Panther-ready updates for their products. I can't recall the same happening in the weeks before Jaguar release. Or was it just that the Mac news outlets didn't pay a lot of attention to it then? Anyway, it makes a good impression :-)

Outing your Dock Started by Gilles Turnbull's article What's on your Dock? on O'Reilly's Macdevcenter.com there is a list of people posting their Dock configurations on their blogs: Michael Tsai, Judy Sohn, John Hicks, Erik J. Barzeski, Mike Cohen, Gabe Sanchez, Cybermonk, Thomas Chai, Jeremy Keith, inluminent.com, John Gales, David Jacobs, ... I'll extend the list as I come across new docks or you can check in the meanwhile the comments in Jason Kottke's Your Dock, if you please.
