What's up for Paris? There has been a great deal of anticipation for what will be revealed at Apple's WWDC earlier this year. Many of us got what they wanted, a sneak peak at Panther and the announcement of the fabulous G5 and a whole wonderful new world with it. But at least as many of us were a bit disappointed by the lack of new 15' PowerBooks. Now there is new hope with the announcement of a Stevenote in Paris as an opening event for the Apple Expo. So, what can we expect to be presented with? • New Powerbooks are sure strong candidates, supplies running low at the dealers, normal upgrade cycles being long overdue. • Rumors have it that Panther might be ready for prime time already. • iTMS for Europe would be a possibility, talks with the labels had been going on for months and by now they should be convinced of the business model with the iTMS being quite a success and hopefully be able to sort out the more complicated European licensing schemes. • iMac updates are in the pipeline too. • Rumored Apple-branded bluetooth keyboards and mice might make their debut in Paris as well. Stevenote in Paris Macnews.de reports that Apple Germany confirmed a keynote in Paris by Steve Jobs. Here is the translation of the post: Steve Jobs will deliver the keynote at the Paris Apple Expo (Update) The announcement did not come as a surprise: Apple Germany confirmed officially Steve Jobs will be opening the Apple Expo in Paris. The show, which will be held from September 16 to 20 at the local fairground Porte de Versailles, will start with one of the famous Stevenotes on Tuesday 10 am. It will be held at the Palais des Congrès. As always, Apple didn't give any details regarding the topics of the presentation, the rumors range from the official launch of Mac OS 10.3, code name 'Panther' to new Powerbooks and updated iMacs. G5s are shipping Apple started shipping the new Powermacs equipped with single processor G5 processor and running Mac OS 10.2.7. Powermac G5. Now shipping.
